Topic : Each fresh crisis we encounter is an opportunity in disguise

Intro : It is a matter of thinking to consider a happening as an opportunity or an obstacle in life
Example 1. The Old man and The Sea
Even if there is no tangible reward, we can learn from the experience
Example 2. Thomas Edison
It is up to us to consider a situation as a fail or a priceless experience that enriches our life.
Example 3. The general Lee Sun-Shin in the Chosun Dynasty and his strategy
People need a courage to cope with a bad situation. Crisis a person faces is not challenging only for him but also for everyone.
Conclusion : As well as having a good idea to cope with problems, people should prepare for potential situations.

People inevitably face problems in their lives. Similar to uncountable episodes in a drama series, people have to go through many ups and down in their real life. Even if the same crisis happens to each, different individual, the way each person deals with it varies, as much as our different personalities. It is a matter of changing our way to view an event as an opportunity or an obstacle in life

Earnest Hemmingway’s book The Old Man and the Sea portrays the old man’s unforgettable memory of a whale. Although he failed to bring the big whale to the sea shore and people mocked his fruitless experience, the man himself was satisfied and proud of himself because that he had tried his best. It is up to us whether we cry over a crisis, or boldly face it. Even if there is a high cost to deal with a bad situation, the experience people will have gone through rewards them eventually.

The world famous inventor and businessman, Thomas Edison, developed a lot of devices. This includes the phonography and the durable light bulb, all of which benefit modern society. The success and the fame he received did not come with luck but through his incessant work in his field. When people mocked his continuous experiments, Edison replied;
“If I find ten-thousands ways something won’t work, I haven’t failed. I have gotten lots of results.”
The modern world has benefited by the convenience of his inventions. It becomes possible because of his enthusiasm and his positive mindset. No matter how challenging the process was, his positive view of his life motivated him to work hard even if the process seemed fruitless. Problems and bad results do not necessarily make our endeavors futile. Rather, it enriches our life with precious experiences that cannot be bartered at any cost. Even if the result is not so good after we get through the crisis, we should remind that perhaps there would be intangible and invisible advantages we obtain while we deal with our problems.

The General Lee Sun-Shin is a general in the Chosun Dynasty of South Korea. The most dramatic battle with Japan at Myungryang showed the importance of courage and wisdom. When the situation was at its worst, twelve sheep were supposed to fight with three-thousand Japanese Sheep. The Chosun Navy’s triumph was possible because of his brilliant strategy; if we are afraid of our enemies, then they are afraid of us too. When of his soldiers tried to escape from the camp due to the dominating number of opponents, he exploited the fear amongst the crowd and turned this into greater courage after people had dealt with it.
The crisies an individual meets is not challenging for her or him only. It is challenging for everyone. When the majority of people are in quandary before unexpected problems in life, the winner of the game is the one who boldly face their problems and wisely handles it. There is an old saying: “It is up to you whether you got stuck at the big rock in front of you or jump over it and regard it as a stepping stone.” It is matter of our understanding to turn crisis we meet into an opportunity in disguise. An opportunity is not serendipity, rather a test with a reward.
