I plan on becoming an entertainment agent or possibly a trial lawyer at some private firm after college.
I am planning on double majoring at whatever college I end up going to (senior next year).
Right now, I am relatively sure I am going to major in Political Science for both of those careers are relatively "open major" and I am interested of going into politics and the future. With that said, I also believe it is crucial for both those careers, especially entertainment agent, to have majored in Business. Given that I am willing to double major, and want to double major, I am looking for a way to major in business as well, not just minor.
Is there a way to get your MBA as an undergraduate and then go on to law school? If you graduate as a business major and then go onto law school, is it even necessary to have an MBA for my career choices? I know having a law degree is crucial in both of my career choices, but a business education is as well, so I was wondering how I should go about this issue in college...MBA as undergraduate...or just major as one? any other options

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

you can't get an MBA as an undergraduate (by definition a Masters of Business Administration is a graduate degree). However, after college you can get a joint JD/MBA degree (which is both a law degree and a graduate business degree). I believe those programs are 4 years instead of the usual 3for a JD and 2 for an MBA (for a total of 5 years of graduate training). If you decided to go that route, you would apply to joint programs after undergrad. And as far as majors goes, political science, business, economics...any of those and others would serve you well. You should know, as long as you're planning so far in advance, JD/MBA programs are very competitive.

i have heard of the JD/MBA programs, i just was not sure exactly what they were.
how competitive are they? do you know where they are offered?
what can i do in undergraduate to prepare..?

They are competitive and there are lots of people out there who got their JD and then found being a lawyer was not for them. Please consider doing some work/internship in the field before committing yourself to that path.

i am talking about the JD/MBA joint program..are they very hard to get into? or if you do well in college, then you can..?

As with everything, how hard a program will be to get into depends on the program. I know that places like Georgetown, Northwestern, Harvard have JD/MBA programs (and will certainly be hard to get into), but so do many other universities that have both a law school and a business school. Try doing an online search of "JD MBA programs" and you'll see what I mean.

Of course, one will need good grades from college, but I also think that ebeee's recommendation about getting an internship in your area of interest is a good one. First of all (and most importantly), it would give you a better idea of whether you would indeed like to be an agent and since you are still young your idea of what you want to do may change (nothing wrong with that! Flexibility and options are wonderful things). But it would also improve your chances of getting into JD/MBA programs.
