can you please offer me advice?

I'm really sorry to start another one of those "where will i get in..?" threads but I am increasingly nervous about college admissions. My stats are:
Grades:
4.087 weighted (on 4.0 scale)
Senior year GPA is currently 4.63
11 AP's (got 'AP scholar with distinction' from collegeboard)
10 Honors

SAT: 2170 in one-sitting (commended scholar for psat)
WR 680
R 700
M 740
Math II 690
Math I 720
Chem 680
Bio M 670

EC's: Captain of varsity tennis
Vice-pres of French Honor society
national honor society
science olympiad (won 3rd in regionals for my event)
MUN

Other: observership at a hospital and a pediatric practice
volunteered in hospital
intern for a&d firm
tennis coach (paid work)
2 other volunteering activites

I have three really good recommendations -- two from teachers and one from counselor. My essay is nothing exceptional, but is (in my opinion) above average.

I really appreciate your time.

My schools are (in order):
Duke
Johns Hopkins
Cornell U
Rice U
Emory U
U Virginia
William and Mary
Virginia Tech
VCU
GMU

I'm probably going to be taking the pre-med route. Thanks so much again, and I really do appreciate your taking the time to help me. Happy Holidays!

As long as you can honestly say, “I’d be happy at my safety and I can afford to attend,” you should be okay. That said, it probably wouldn’t hurt to add a match or two. Have you considered the LACs? Wake Forest, Rhodes or Davidson perhaps?

well, vtech is my true safety, while VCU and GMU are like safety safties. I’m really aiming for the other schools though. I think that UVA and W&M are the matches i have, while everything else is either reach or dream. Thanks for your suggestions, but I think i’ll stick with UVA over Wake Forest since i can get the instate tution for UVA.

To clarify –
Dream:
Duke
Johns Hopkins

Reach:
Cornell
Rice

Target:
UVA
William and Mary

Safety:
Virginia Tech

Automatic:
Virginia Commonwealth
George Mason

Sorry, i forgot to add Emory (target) and Georgetown (target).

It looks like you have them listed appropriately. You should be in for UVA and W&M.

Yes, it sounds like you are being realistic. You will get in somewhere. Try to be content with the one you ultimately end up at. Chances are, it will be the perfect one.

Duke and Hopkins offer great pre-med programs but as noted are very selective for admissions. Might want to look at Holy Cross(don’t have to be religious) and Tufts both have great pre-med and are easier to get into.

*. That said, it probably wouldn’t hurt to add a match or two. Have you considered the LACs? Wake Forest, Rhodes or Davidson perhaps? *

*Thanks for your suggestions, but I think i’ll stick with UVA over Wake Forest since i can get the instate tution for UVA. *

I know that VCU and VTech are your safeties, but it doesn’t sound like you’re too thrilled with them.

I think M’sMom has made some good suggestions…especially with Rhodes College since you’re pre-med. Curmudgeon’s D just graduated from there and is now at Yale Med.

Have you mentioned what your budget is? Do you know how much your parents will pay each year? If they’ll pay $55k per year for wherever you get in, then awesome. However, if money is an issue (especially if you won’t qualify for enough financial aid), then I think you should apply to some schools like Rhodes that will give you a nice merit scholarship.
