Can you recommend a few reaches... within my reach?

Rising senior, African American female, first gen.
From Detroit, MI looking for reach schools in the Midwest, Northeast, or Mid-Atlantic.
I feel as if the reaches I am thinking of are too high for me to apply.

3.55 UW GPA, most challenging courses available
28 ACT

Tons of EC's, including 300+ hours of community service, varsity volleyball captain, student government, president of art club and founder of a multicultural club.

Do you have a safety picked out (you can afford, would like to attend, are assured of getting in)? What would you like to study?

I already have my safeties and matches and I’d like to study political science.

Do you want to play vball in college? Are you a DI prospect?

Nope, but I wouldn’t mind playing intramural

Carleton College very actively seeks out African Americans. I think you’d have a much better chance there than your stats might otherwise indicate, especially if you show interest.

Not sure what type of schools you are looking for, but here are some in the mid-west that come to mind: Kenyon, Oberlin, Case Western Reserve, Carleton, Denison, Grinnell, Macalester,
