Can you register for same class (different time) in Pass 2 before dropping original?

<p>My daughter has a potential job that will require her to change her lab times for a class. The class has multiple lab times, but you sign up for the lab and class under the same class number (hopefully I’m explaining that correctly.) So, she can’t just change the lab, but has to sign up for a different class. </p>

<p>Her pass 2 time is on Friday afternoon. Many of the class slots are already full, and she HAS to have this class for her major. Coming in as a Junior transfer student, she can’t afford to take this class later as most of her major classes require this class first and it wasn’t offered at her CC. Can she sign up for the new time slot that she wants to make sure she gets in during pass 2 BEFORE dropping the class she is currently in at this time? She would do it immediately after seeing she got into the new lab time slot. We are just afraid if she drops the class first, she might not get in if too many people are trying to get the class at the same time.</p>

<p>No, she has to drop her current section first before she can add the new section for the same clasd. She can drop and add classes simultaneously, though. All she has to do is select drop class for the section she wants to drop and enter in the new section’s CRN into one of the boxes at the bottom of the page, and then press submit. Another easier method that is less risky is if the professor for the class already has the class smartsite available, then your daughter can post in the chatroom there and ask if anyone wants to switch with her-most of the time there is someone willing to switch.</p>
