Can you request Honors?

I know it's invitation-only. Son was accepted summer B. 1470/2130 SAT, and with all his AP classes, his UF GPA should be around 4.0. He got his "big" (but quite thin) envelope yesterday - no honors invite. Worth a call? Honors is a pretty big factor in the decision...

IF he met the reqiurments for honors they should send you something, normally with admission. I would give a call.

yes, give them a call-and they should see if his UF GPA is a 4.0. I also think honor invites supposed to start in the fall http://www.honors.ufl.edu/

Honors students can also begin in the summer. My son received the honors invitation with his acceptance letter. He had applied for summer, since there are many advantages to starting then (getting acquainted with the campus, meet friends, and have a head start on your GPA by taking only 2 classes).

Ok, I'm taking his transcript and trying to calculate his GPA.

For the UF GPA, do they count all AP classes? (economics, us government, computer science AB, psychology?)

Of the following non-AP classes, which, if any, do you think UF would consider "academic" classes for the purposes of the UF GPA?

Computer Applications 1
Computer Applications 2
Computer Programming 1
Computer Programming 2
Research 5
French
Multimedia Technology
TV Production

Thanks.

French is considered an academic class...not sure about the others.

mom2three, mind PMing me the school your UF hopeful goes to currently? That curriculum sounds awfully familiar to what I went through all those years ago.
