Can you show "demonstrated interest" after applying?

I didn’t request interviews for UChicago, CMU, Wellesley, or Vandy, and I wasn’t able to visit them. I’m on the mailing list. Is there any way I could still show demonstrated interest now?

Bump

It’s late February. There’s a better than 50% chance that your application’s fate has already been decided, and the poor application readers are just trying to get through another 200 files. At this point, the only way to “demonstrate interest” is to send your admissions officer a series of e-mails with questions about the university, and the most likely effect will be to annoy him/her (if he/she has time to read the e-mails).

Let it be.

@NotVerySmart How much will not showing much demonstrated interest affect me?

Google “Common Data Set” and the name of the college. In the CDS you’ll find how much demonstrated interest is taken into account for each individual college.

Your application is in. Your part of the process is complete. Unless you have a truly significant update to your application, don’t send anything. Admissions officers are not looking for more to read at this point.

It’s a moot point for you, especially at these schools.

Your stats from your “Journey” thread are impressive. You have a good mix of reaches and safeties. I think your biggest problem is likely to be that you will receive 4 or 5 compelling acceptances all around the same time, and will have to make a tough decision quickly. So unless you have a couple of runaway favorites, consider visiting some of the schools during spring break in order to take some pressure off once the end of March rolls around.
