I heard that you could finish your undergrad and masters degree in just five years. Is this true, and if it is, does it apply with engineering?
It can be done. I know a student athlete at U of Michigan who just did it with an aerospace engineering degree (he was redshirted for a year, so was there for 5 years, and got through his masters). Now… he is an exceptional student. I don’t think he came in with hardly any AP credits, though.
In general it depends on the school, and you have to research it school by school.
I got my undergrad and masters in four years. I had some favorable factors on my side, though. Engineering is probably harder and it depends on the school(s).
Is there a certain program for this or is it based on ones personal endeavors?
A certain program for what? Every person and their situation is different. Some schools have combined undergrad+masters program, like a 5 year MBA.
Clark and UAlabama honors have a special program for that.
Many colleges have formal 5 year BA/MA programs such as at Northeastern University:
Oh thanks for your replies guys. I thought that it had a formal name, but I guess I should try to just take any accelerated class.
