Can you study for AP and SAT II tests with the same book?

I will be taking Chemistry this upcoming school year, and I plan on taking the SAT II and possibly AP test, depending on how confident I feel about the subject.

Last school year a few of my classmates said that the Barron's AP and SAT II books for Biology were basically the same, except there was a little more info in the AP book and it was rearranged slightly. This caused a few of them to take both tests while studying from one book.

So I'm wondering: is it ok for me to just buy the Barron's AP Chemistry book to study for both tests? I wouldn't want to waste money buying two books covering the exact same material.
And if this is true for Barron's Biology books, is it the same for other subjects and publishers?

For Chemistry, the SAT II is a lot more conceptual and purely knowledge-based (no big calculations), whereas the AP test has more detail. In addition, the SAT II has a very different questioning style (e.g. the T/F T/F CE questions). I would suggest getting Barron’s books for both AP and SAT II, but if you would prefer to only get one book, I suppose you could get by with just an AP book, while taking a lot of SAT II practice tests to get used to the questions.

I would suggest getting both books as well-- although the material is generally the same, the questions are asked sorta differently. If you buy both, you could probably get them for under $20 total. Half.com is my go-to place to get cheap books or amazon works nicely too.

I didn’t need a review book for the SAT II since I took the Chem Subject Test right after I took the AP Chem test. As shalooky said, the concepts tested and the test question types will differ, but there are plenty of online resources to help you prepare for those.
