Can you take SAT'S in college?

Can you take the SAT's again in college? Im a freshman now and looking to transfer, but I have like a 1100 (out of 1600) and Im realizing how important the SAT still is when transferring (and even in applying to some finance jobs, which I wish to pursue). This is probably a dumb question but I need an answer. Im 100% sure I can do far better another time around.

Yes. [ 10 Char ]

awesome...any special kind of registration? More importantly, if I do better, do I even have to put my old score on a transfer app?

Thanks

You can take the sat's whenever you are so compelled. Even at 70, you theoretically could. Hm, maybe I'll do that one day and see how I do. No, no, never again...

Make a new registration on collegeboard, and then I don't think you'll have to worry about the old scores.

A new registration? As in a new account? You mean just register for another test right?

Is it that uncommon for college freshman to take the SAT again? You can really disregard your old SAT's, as far as applications go, after you get a new score?

Thanks

What I meant by that was register under a different username, and then sign up for the test. I'm pretty sure that works.

O really, I thought CollegeBoard suggested takeing retakes. Or is this just how their system works; they want you to make a new username?

Xeneise... do you think its worth taking again? Is it uncommon? Do I really get to make my old score "disappear" from future apps?

Thanks alot

Why would your old scores disappear? You have to use your real name and SSN when registering for the SAT. And transfers have to send official scores through Collegeboard, so, yes, all scores would be seen.

Not that it should be a problem. If you score really really high this time, that's what would count anyway.

ok...... and I realize they wouldnt actually disappear. Didnt mean literaly... Just making sure that the new score would be the one they would look at.

Thanks

jtdayton, why are you planning of taking the SAT again as a freshmen in college. just for fun or is it required for people who want to transfer to another college. im going to uci and i plan of transfering after two years, does that mean i have to retake the SAT again?? cause i don't know how transfer applications differ from regular appican'ts. do we need to send SAT scores again too??

some schools still ask for it some dont, look up what your future school of choice wants.
