I would recommend you major in Finance and minor in Political Science then… depending on what your interests are, you may want to switch than combo around…

ND is a completely different school and atmosphere, don’t be fooled by the fact that Gtown and ND are similar because both are Catholic… although I’ve never been, I’ve heard many accounts from friends and such that Gtown and ND are completely different… mostly that ND is more Catholic/more strict… I personally think Georgetown offers more opportunities, especially if you’re interested in gov’t and IR… Statistically speaking Georgetown is also more competitive to get into (some ppl care about that)…

What about ND attracts you? Other than the flexibility? I can tell you Georgetown is very flexible as well, but it is just logistically harder to transfer after freshmen year to another school (i.e. MSB to SFS), because of the pre-requisites), not because they give you a hard time about it…

Thanks sophmore12 but what really attracts me to ND is the amazing school spirit and vitality that the students have. I visited both ND and G-town and felt “more at home” at ND because they were so welcoming. However what I dislike about ND is their level of strictness towards typical college student tendencies (i.e drinking). Finally, I was also wondering if what you said is true. Can I major in Finance and have a minor in Poly-Sci? How will this work pertaining to the colleges at G-Town?

Hey man, at the end of the day, I would love to see you come here if you get in, but if you feel more at home at ND, then that’s that.

To be frank, I don’t think Political Sci is a major or minor at Georgetown, I think International Relations or Government is the equivalent (or a degree in the SFS), but I’m not an expert on that… but you can definitely major in Finance (and another major in the MSB) and minor in a non-MSB major (except for SFS related ones)… that’s what I’m doing, a double major and a minor… (which is actually decently common)… I would say most people I know in the MSB has two majors…

And one more thing, Gtown has pretty awesome school spirit and vitality (go to a basketball game or two)… we’re all very proud to go to school at the Hilltop and we have a pretty strong alumni network as well… can’t comment on ND’s…
