So this summer I've been trying to get a head start on college apps and already wrote my essay for the common application.</p>
<p>Then I found out about Questbridge and thought I'd give it a shot. When we apply for questbridge, do the colleges read the essays we've written for the program?
Can we just use the same essay for the common app and on of the Questbridge essay or is this not allowed?</p>

<p>Hmm… I’m considering the same thing as sportygrl48; is there any advantage or disadvantage to using the same essay? (There seems to be corresponding prompts on both platforms, verbatim 0.o)</p>
<p>I know the answer is one of personal opinion, but it would be good to get some advice from others. Strictly aside from the content of your essays, would supplying an additional essay give more insight to your applicant profile or simply just give you more work to do?</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure this is what most applicant’s did last year. Many partner schools even encourage it. “You don’t need to write new or additional essays, and we encourage you to revise or reuse your QuestBridge essays for your Common Application and Yale Supplement” - Yale QB website.</p>
<p>Although I’m considering writing two separate essays anyways.</p>
<p>Hmm…but when you apply to the colleges through Questbridge, does the college read teh common app essay AND the Questbridge essays? And if they read both, would it be weird to repeat them?..</p>
<p>Haha that’s the problem that I was wondering. If you were to write two different essays. Obviously you would focus most of your effort and thought on your Questbridge essay (as it is a fantastic opportunity). You want to make it special. But… by those means, your Common App essay would be lackluster in comparison. So you would opt to use the QB essay for both platforms…</p>
