Canada and California=Overrated?

lv lover... tell me some of the things that we don't have. Because I can't think of any where I'm from.

And we don't have free education. Although taxes do pay for most of it. Highways? Who pays for highways? Our healthcare is crap (people wait months for specialists) and maybe the reason that we get away with that is because we don't have a large military to support. I don't think that it's in the 40s.

Personally, I'd like to see a Chanel store. And something similar to Neiman Marcus. I know we have Holt's, but the selection just isn't the same-we don't have ie. Marc Jacobs, Pucci, Hermes, Herve Leger, Tods etc.

What do they even sell at those stores? Only one that's I've heard of is Neiman Marcus and I know that it's all very expensive. Nothing that I'd be buying, I'm sure.

"there are some really dirty cities like Santa Ana that are filled and infested with illegal immigrants or sons/daughters of illegal immigrants.
some cities like irvine which i used to live are populated by only asians and whites. some cities like diamond bar, arcadia, and rowland heights have more asian people than white people."

haha, funny. my family is from both of those areas and fit in with none of the generalizations...being as we are African American.

People should watch the Barbarian Invasions to understand what it's like to have free healthcare. If the grass is greener in Canada, why don't you move north? I heard McGill is like Harvard of Canada.

ahahaha. I can't stand people that say that (about McGill. yes I noticed your sarcasm).

My humble opinion-California is definitely overrated (I mean, come on, "Arnold" as governor? wth?). On the other hand, Canada, aside from the rampant liberalism, is a tr

Canadian universities sort of suck because if you go out of province, you have to pay so much freaking more... I mean, aren't we sort of paying enough taxes for the government to cover post-secondary education? And the scholarships aren't need-based like US, so that sucks too. You actually have to be smart to get financial aid.

It's the same thing in the US. But actually I just looked at the U of A and it costs the same for all Canadian residents. And it's the same for USask. What school are you talking about?

There are need based bursaries, though... I've gotten some.

I am Canadian and find canada racist. from myprofile you can see I am not living there anymore. and that's one of the reason's why. Canada is diverse on paper not in reality.

Every country is racist. I've heard that Dubai is pretty racist as well.

^^ What do you mean? Who are they racist against?

Canada isn't more racist than any other country, it's probably less racist than a lot of them though. When I visited US, I felt people seemed more racist than Canada, but it's not my place to judge a country's "racistness". It's different from US in that US calls itself the "melting pot" and it blends everyone together and says, "we're all the same internally", and Canada says "what are you talking about? It's no use denying we're different, because we are. But let's all try to find ways that we can get along", so Canada says it's a multicultural jigsaw puzzle. The problem with that is that Canada is losing its own identity, taking little bits of culture from here and little bits of culture from there and say "Hey! This is Canada!", which isn't good. But Canada is definitely not particularly racist.

^^ What do you mean? Who are they racist against?

Whites, from what I've heard.

Haha that's funny

yea the healthcare in Canada sucks. My great uncle couldn't see a doctor for some dizziness and stuff(I guess it was pretty intense or something) and then like a year later he had a brain aneurysm and the hospital nearest couldn't take him couldn't take him because they didn't have any beds and they offered to airlift him to some hospital way far off, but it didn't matter because he needed immediate care. And I think there was something in his will about donating a bunch of money to charities so that something else(maybe the money in the will?) wouldn't be crazily taxed. Canada does have a lot of trees though...
