Hi guys, this is my first post.. sorry if this has been discussed...

my current condition is that i'm in my seniour year ( gr 12 ) and i realized that i wanted to go University in the US, so i researched and discovered and found out certain programs, and their requirements. SAT I -- i know it might sound weird but i'm going to take it for the first time on Oct. 8th.. now i don't know what the impacts will be of doing it this late will be.. but i'm hoping to score around 700 and 700, and hoping to get my gpa up to 3.4 with all University Level courses (as they have it here in canada) now my concerns are that i want go to medical school, but i'm confused between programs:

What would you define as a pre-med program, would it be just like a regular Bachelors program, geared toward med school?.. and if so what which would you say is it easier to get into to med school with .. pre-med or biochem (or a simliar program) ?

My other question is regarding the 7 / 8 year B.A. / M.D. program at Rutgers, how would you rate this program, and what would be the avg entrance requirements? GPA, SAT scores etc etc, also i read somewhere that international students aren't eligible for it.

Pre-med is a group of courses that will prepare you for the MCAT exam, and they are the pre-requisities for med school.

You can get a Bachelor's degree in any subject that interests you (does not have to be science related). You'll want to get as high of a GPA as possible.

hmm ok.. the ones that are open to international students [i haven't looked through all of them] .. what are the figures on international acceptance?

doesn't matter. no one really cares whether you have a BA or BS as long as you have an MD. I don't even know the real difference between BA and BS.

BA means that you got a liberal arts education while BS means you didnt have to fill requirements in the humanities and stuff (engineering or science based).

It doesn't really matter for med school which you get.
