How do I convert my Canadian marks to an equivalent American GPA?
I had a 91% avg in grade 9, 88% in grade 10 and 93% in grade 11. I will most likely get a 94-95% average in grade 12.
How does this look like in a GPA system out of 4?
Is this a competitive canadian average when applying to UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCI and Georgia Tech?
My extracurriculars are decent and my application essays are strong as well.
Canadian marks are the same as American marks.
You do not convert unless the college tells you to convert, and then they will tell you how to do it. The UCs are the only major colleges that ask for a conversion. Be aware that you would be full-pay at UCs.
Also, the scale is different between the different Provinces (ie., 88 in Ontario, Quebec, and Saskachewan) so you will need to provide the scale.
Most university adcoms are familiar with the Canadian grading system.
Also realize as @skieurope said that there is no financial aid for OOS and international students at the UC’s. Are you able to pay $65,000/year for 4 years.
