Is it really so far-fetched for a Canadian student to want to apply to Harvard? I'm from a pretty small school in Ottawa, with current average at 94.5 (we don't have GPAs). Also, do I need to take the SATs as a part of my app, or will I not have to because I'm an international student? If it is required, can anyone help me as to how/where to take this test? We don't do the SATs here, so I'm feeling pretty lost. Please help!

Have you tried to look up the requirements on Harvard’s own web pages? They are pretty clear, for international and domestic students. if you’re serious about undertaking such a large venture, you’d be wise to know specific and accurate information. And that can be had at their own site.

But to say that the SAT isn’t offered in Ottawa, that gives me grave concern at your quest for facts and info.

With one shot at google, I found this:
http://prepskills.com/sat/sat-test-centreslocations-ontario

thanks for the link, but I didn’t mean that the SATs aren’t offered here, it’s just not a requirement for Canadian students, so there is no in-school prep (or even encouragement for students wanting to). thanks anyway :)

Well, then you’ll see from Harvard’s pages that they need either the ACT or SATI plus 2 SATII tests.

There is no in-school prep for most schools here in the States, even though most college bound students take the sat or act. You can prep with books or online courses very easily

You need to study for the SAT or ACT by yourself if there’s no prep places in Canada. I’m Canadian (although living in the US) and I have dozens of friends in Canada that are taking the SAT to apply to US colleges.
It’s not that different in the US. There’s no in-school prep and we’re technically not required to take the SAT or ACT unless we’re applying to colleges that require it.

I am traveling 450 km to take SAT. -.-
