Any Canadians transfered from Canadian schools to US schools? Can you explain the proces...did you have to take the SAT, what were your stats, school etc?

Im curious because I didnt get in anywhere in the states RD cept Boston University...I hope I can get into Tufts, Gtown one day.

it's generally easier to transfer to a U.S school from a Canadian school rather than the other way around. But still it all depends on the schools in question and your program. you have to be more specific about where you and what program you're in.

Ok well Im probably going to attend Queens, Western, McGill for poli sci

I have a few concerns:

1) I scored 1200 on my SAT and I believe they still consider that for transfers

2) there is severe grade deflation in Canada...avg GPA at McGill and UofT is around 2.2-2.4

3) Would I stand a chance at as a sophomore transfer to Emory, Tufts with my low SAT

Yes, yuor GPA probably would hurt you. And yes most Canadian schools grade very harshly. Some U.S. schools are quite aware of that fact. There's no reason not to try. Did you at least call the schools in question and find out what they require to transfer to their school? Have you considered just going to a U.S for grad schools. I know some canadians who got into the Ivy League grad schools from top Canuck schools with undergradute GPA in the 2.4 region. Which kind of proves my point that the U.S. schools are aware that a C+ at U of T is an A- at Harvard.

Well thats why I dont plan on going to Toronto.

Im probably going to go to Western Ontario or Queens where I should be able to pull off a 3.7

With my 1200 SAT score, 3.7 GPA, i was top 5th percentile in my class (for senior year cuz thats the year that counts in Canada), ok EC's....would I stand a chance at Emory, Tufts, Wash U, Gtown as a sophomore?
