Hey! I got into 3 uni so far and am waiting for 6 replies, and I can't decide which one I should go to. I got into Illinois Inst. of Tech., Worchester Polytechnic Inst. and Queens University in Canada. I really don't know how they compare to eachother for engineering, so if anyone knows anythign about them can you help me choose. I'm waiting for replies from U of Waterloo, U of T, and McGill, and I think I should get into them if i got into Queen's since Queen's is hardest to get into. And from US I'm also waiting for Princeton, USC, and UMich, but i doubt I'll get into Princeton, and wouldn't be able to afford USC and UMich even if i got in, so its probably gonna be between Queens, Waterloo, U of T, McGill, IIT and WPI... So thanx for your help in advance!

well...i'd go for UT Austin, but its a tough call...

can you elaborate or gimme reasons. Thnx

I would choose U of T, i've heard they have a very strong engineering program

thnx waleekdk87.. the problem is i've heard waterloo is supposedly the best engineering school in canada, and U of T is actually ranked much higher than Waterloo on the International rankings for tech schools. On the other hand Many of my friends in Canada have said that Queens is actually best for engineering in Canada. So i'm just really confused. What do yuo think about IIT(illinois) and WPI?

I've never actually heard anyone say Queens is the best school in engineering in Canada. I do know for a fact though that most employers I've met have tremendous respect for the waterloo program, and many considers it to be the "best" engineering school in Canada.

Thnx. How about if I go to Queens and then do I stand an equally good chance of getting a job as a Waterloo student or not because Queens may have the best reputation overall in Canada?

help me plz

I'd say Waterloo for eng. and their famed co-op program. Queen's probably has a overall better rep although some people say its overrated.

I don't believe Queens have the best reputation overall in Canada, and it's tough to identify one school with that accolade. For undergraduate studies, you're probably going to receive an excellent education at any of these schools. As bahamasc said, Waterloo's co-op program really is an excellent one, as the school helps you gather up work experience.

Waterloo is the only school Bill Gates visited when he came to Canada, and I believe he explicitly said, microsoft recruits more students from Waterloo then any other school in Canada. If your mind is set on engineering, then I say goto Waterloo.

Actually you got it in reverse! Waterloo's co-op is over-rated, many don't get job, on the other hand, Queen's offers a great education experience and also has good rep in Canada. Although... If you get in to Engineering Science at University of Toronto... Then it's U of T for sure
best of luck :D
