I'm first generation chinese immigrant and I've been in Canada for 11 years...</p>

<p>Ummm, I think one problem that Cornell is going to have with your application is your senior year schedule (why are you taking AP Chem and Chem 12?). It looks like you are only taking three serious classes (I count the two chem classes as one). My advice to you is to take atleast 5 core/high level classes. If do that, and show a lot of passion and interest for whatever program you intend to do at Cornell, I think you will have a fair chance. I am not sure whether being Canadian makes much of a difference in applying. Good luck.</p>

<p>oo, kay, I’ll sign up for AP pyscology and AP literature then
and the place where i live, I have a wierd curriculum where we have to do summer courses if we want to do AP courses. We also can’t skip grade 12 courses to take the AP.</p>

<p>well, in canada 86% is an A and an A amounts to a 4.0 . So if i had 8 courses i only need 86% + to get an A / 4</p>

<p>Whats more important is that for a student who has been studying in a different curriclum, this test is not the optimal aptitude test for that student because in his/ her curriculum, he/she is not taught the same skills that are required to ace this exam. Having studied this test for only a few months as opposed to another student who might have been studying the skills needed to master this test for four years, a score of 2100, does not seem quite as dissapointing as it still beats over 93% of the people that take the exam.</p>

<p>2100 is not “so low”…it may not be great for international student at thee ndowed schools but it is above the 50th percentile for all of the contract colleges and in line with the gpa.</p>
