Canadians...

Does anyone know how many Canadians do Harvard take each year?
I guess around 10.
~2100 admitted each year
10% international students

10 for Canada,
No?

If you are a Loran Scholar in Canada (the most prestigious award for high school graduates, 30 are named each year), does it make much difference?

Uh its definitely more than 10; its ~30 from Ontario alone.
Canada makes up the biggest portion of the international pool.

Were you a Finalist for Loran? If so, congrats and definitely let Harvard know. It definitely wouldn't hurt as 2093847062983 kids in the states put "national merit (semi)finalist" down.

And remember that some of the Canadian acceptees are recruited rowers and ice hockey players.

hey im sure it makes a difference
ps.
were u nominated in grade 11 or grade 12 because how did you put the loran scholar on ur harvard app?

finalists were announced prior to x-mas break so it could have definitely been included in common app and scholars were announced last weekend so maybe GC could report with midyear report?

over 30 from Ontario alone?! Athlete recruits probably be around ~10 to fill their rosters. Hmm...interesting

I have just been notified about the Loran Award recently, so it wasn't in my application. BUT, I was a finalist when I applied and that was mentioned. Also, I just found out that I'm a "Weston Loran Scholar", 15 of us in Canada. Hopefully it helps the AdCom

I have included this update in my mid-term report.
Are you guys all Canadians applicants :P
