I canceled one of my AP scores (Spanish = 1) on the advice of my counselor. I have four other scores which are 5,5,5,3 on various tests. At the time I canceled the Spanish score I didn't realize that my score report from the collegeboard would list Spanish with an asterisk, and then below state "score was canceled at the request of the student." My question is: should I explain why I canceled it (terrible score; sick that day), or would that be drawing attention to it. Obviously I canceled the score because it was crappy, they of course will know it was a 1 or 2. Will it sound like I'm making excuses if I explain? I'm just not sure which way to go on this.
