I'm still awaiting to see if i get admitted anywhere out of state, but i was wanting to attend an earlier preview date to sign up for classes. I know the fee for preview is $152, but i can't find anything about the cost to cancel.... anyone know?

I believe that you can’t cancel the preview date and get a refund, but you can schedule the date to be a different date for a 15 dollar fee. This is the assumption I am under, but it would be best to call. Sorry I couldnt be of more assistance.

If i were to chose to attend a different university, why would i not be able to cancel? Ah…

Preview is technically orientation for new students, so why would you attend orientation to a school that you wont go to? I say wait to sign up until you are sure you are attending there, because I am pretty sure that you can not get your money back. If you are worried about going at a later date because of picking classes later…don’t. Their website says:
“It does not matter which orientation session a student attends. The University of Florida holds seats in critical courses for each session, so students at each session have an equal opportunity to register for classes.” Im an AA/HS student so I have to go at one of the latest dates because that is what is designated for us.

UMCane… I’m an AA/HS student as well… Can you tell me where you read/heard that we have to attend a specific Preview? Thanks so much…

I am thoroughly confused about this, lol.

“It does not matter which orientation session a student attends. The University of Florida holds seats in critical courses for each session”

Courses deemed critical by the university are not those I will most likely need. I remember reading about someone last year who had a later preview date saying if your entering UF with AP/IB/Dual Enrollment credit, you need an early preview date to get the classes you really need.

You need an early preview date to get the classes you really need? I dont see how that is possible because they are making us (Dual Enrollment students) attend the preview on June 20-21…? Im wondering then if I tell them that I cant make this one, could I do a different one? Surely they would have to let me since it is mandatory and are only giving Dual Enrollment students the option to do it on one set date, right?

ufgator I copied and pasted for you: (but you can go to [FAQ | Orientation | New Student and Family Programs | The Dean of Students Office | University of Florida](http://www.dso.ufl.edu/nsfp/orientation/faq.php#q4A) and see all the FAQ)

"What if I’m a high school student who have earned my AA degree?
A special hybrid orientation session has been created for you as a HS/AA student and is scheduled for June 20-21* regardless of which semester you will begin at UF. Although academically you may be advanced, you will experience the transition to UF like many freshmen. This special program will provide you transfer student academic advising from your college in conjunction with the introduction to resources and life at UF that freshmen receive. Your status as an HS/AA admittee requires your attendance at this specially designed Preview session. If you are unable to attend this specialized HS/AA session, please contact our office for further information.

*HS/AA students do not have the flexibility to attend an overnight freshman Preview or Transfer Preview."

Also, just found this in the handout if you havent seen it yet…

" Preview costs are non-refundable but transferable to another open session dates"

Seems like you are out of lucky, sorry :(

by the time any previews start, all the non-freshman classes will have already been pretty much as filled as they they’re going to get.
