My CVW is tomorrow and I am super nervous to go and experience USNA. I am hoping that some of you can lend me advice.
Thank you in advance

At this point you’re probably in the middle of your CVW but I might as well put this here so others with the same question can see it …
I applied for Class of 2020 and went to a CVW in October. I was nervous as well but quickly learned there’s nothing to be worried about - CVW is designed purely so you can view what the Academy is like and you won’t be subjected to any treatment that the Plebes go through. In fact, your presence actually gives your Plebe a few more rights.
CVW is a lot of fun if you have an open mind and is really an experience designed so you can determine if Academy life is for you.
@mldt1435 - Thank you for replying, and yes it was extremely relaxed. I guess I just hyped it too much. Also, I stayed with the 27th company which is rumored to be very chill. Good luck on your appointment!
Hey there,
Sorry to bother you, but I just received my confirmation email notifying me that I have been invited to attend a CVW this October. The Naval Academy is certainly my first choice, but the thing is I’m only a junior and have not even begun the application process for the Class of 2022 (the application doesn’t open until next year). Do you know if juniors who haven’t even partially submitted an application have ever been invited to a CVW, and if so how many have gone? I just want to make sure that I’m not taking anyone’s spot. Thanks.
Yes, there are Juniors who are invited. If you have not visited, it would be a great opportunity to get a better look at it. My kids were both invited to go Junior year, but did not go. They both went to NASS in the summer and then my son did a CVW after he was appointed. My daughter opted not to apply to USNA after attended NASS. She was more interested going to a traditional college and applied for the NROTC scholarship instead.
I have no clue how many people will go, but I would definitely consider attending if you are intersted in USNA as it is a great experience that helps to form opinions. I think that if you applied to STEM then you were automatically entered for a CVW. Good Luck with your app!
