candyman, help - - question re: visitation

How common is it for dorm or groups of roommates to vote for visitation more liberal than the official 10am -2am ? What if your roommates vote for parietals and you want an overnight guest? (Or is this outcome statistically insignif?)

nyc,

This question is a bit random...but it seems as if this particular regulation interests you, as evidenced by your latest post on the Rhodes College board.

Even though we may have visitation hours and specific rules with regards to visitation, I do not think anyone is really aware of them. The issue of visitation has more to do with whether the roommates/floormates would mind having a guest over. I do not believe anyone would have a complaint if someone wanted to have an overnight guest, as long as the visit was discussed prior to their arrival. The college does not want a student to have a guest over without first receiving consent from nearby residents.

I wish you the best of luck as you gather information on college visitation regulations at colleges across the nation.
