Cant decide between uci and cal poly slo!

I really like UCI’s campus. It’s very modern and beautiful. I love the weather down there (i’m from sf)! The only downside to the campus is that they don’t offer business for undergrads. THey offer a econ major and administration and management minors. I’m still unsure what part of business i want to go into… maybe accounting? If i want to do that… i will have to go to graduate school if i go to uci. Another thing is that… there are a lot of asians. There’s nothing wrong about that… im asian myself. But i just want to go to a more diverse school.

Although I haven’t gone to Cal poly’s campus, I’ve been to San Luis Obispo. The ppl there seem very friendly. At nighttime i went to dt and saw a lot of cal poly students just hanging out. I can tell the social life is very active at cal poly. I like the small town feeling … it’s very different from the city where i live. I heard a lot of good things about Cal Poly’s business. They offer accounting… finance… etc. I barely saw any asians there. I read somewhere that only 11% asians go to cal poly. =T not very diverse… also.

which school has the highest employment rate for business? would a company hire someone who graduated from cal poly slo over someone who graduated from uci? i know it does depend… such as experience and stuff. i just want to get an idea.

Well I'm not sure about UCI but most UC's don't have a real business majors for undergrads. In fact for UC's, its implied that you will take some major such as economics and then further the education with a MBA. Let's not forget UCs are more theoretical schools and Cal Poly is a practical school.

So if you plan on going straight on doing your major after graduation Cal Poly I believe is the best bet. After all, in Cal poly you will have hands on experience on your major. I think thats a very practical and more logical choice for a business major than having a theoretical education.

That link gives the stats on where the graduates of Cal Poly by major go after they graduate.

Haha, i just like how you call SLO not very diverse when Irvine is like 75% asian.
