Hi,
So i have like a week to decide and i’m having a lot of trouble picking a school. It’s Case Western vs Northeastern vs Rutgers Honors vs UPitt Honors and they’re all so different!
Pros and cons would be:
Case:
Pro- really prestigious in science (I’m planning on doing cognitive science)
Con- known to be antisocial (i would be really unhappy with that)
Northeastern:
Pro- Co-op
Con- expensive
Rutgers Honors:
Pro- small group within large university, cheapest option for me
Con- huge party school (I’m ok with a party school but this is a really big one)
UPitt Honors:
Pro- nice location, good for my major
Con- Honors program apparently doesn’t offer very much
I was wondering if anyone had any more input on any of these schools and programs
Thanks in advance!!
You mention cost as a con for Northeastern and a pro for Rutgers. How important is cost? How much debt will you and your family take on for each?
Although it was a very long time ago, I did Rutgers Honors. It was more than big enough to have a good social life. I think I went to two frat parties my freshman year and that was it. It’s also easy to get to Manhattan regularly.
Take a look at the Case Western threads on CC. I don’t think it’s as antisocial as you believe.
If cognitive science is a stepping stone to med school, minimizing undergrad debt is important.
@Viking2015 For Rutgers, I would be in no debt. For Northeastern, I would be in a bit of debt but not too badly
@mamaedefamilia Thanks for the input! And i don’t think i’ll be going to med school, but probably grad school
