can't figure out where to go.

so, i'm just about to send my early decision application out to vanderbilt... but i'm having second thoughts.

i love vandy. visited it. LOVED IT. the whole preppy thing that people made such a big deal about didn't seem so evident to me--but i'm a bit preppy, so that wouldn't be an issue even if it was.

but i also love BC, and ND, and UIllinois, and Wisconsin, and Texas, and Lehigh, and the list goes on... but i also don't want to limit myself to only the places i've heard of.

i really want to do something with design, engineering, or economics/finance, and i need a place that offers all of those with, at the very least, pretty well-respected programs in each.

can someone help?

You love many schools…I wouldn’t apply ED then.

What are your stats?

Will your parents pay for wherever you go? If not, then how much will they pay?

From another post by the OP:

Obviously with those scores and that class rank most schools are in play. UIUC makes obvious sense since it’s in-state and a great engineering school.

@mom2collegekids, i’m just a bit scared of not getting into vandy, and if i apply rd i don’t think i’d get in. my parents do fine and they can pay for wherever i go so luckily cost isn’t an issue.

It’s a loooong time from November to September to make such a commitment to a school you’re not in love with, plenty of time to regret your decision; April 30 is more reasonable as a decision date in such a case. Be careful!
