Hey everybody, so chance me please, I will chance back.

So I go to one of the best private prep schools in the country. It's ridiculously hard, has little grade inflation, and only a few ap classes. Also, there is no class rank. It sends like 30-40% of the graduating class to ivys, and everybody gets into a college.
So at this school, I have a gpa of 3.45, with an upward trend and a jr gpa of 3.6.
Sats are 1480/2220 - 750,730,740
Sat iis are 680 Math 1, 710 US history (should I send these?)
Extras are solid, the highlights are 3 sport varsity athlete (although I do not want to play in college), paid internship at hospital and sectional editor of the newspaper. Also I'm a 2 club leader and community service and such.
I should have good recs.
Also, I don't know if it matters, but I live in New Jersey.

So with all that, here is the million dollar question, what are my chances at Vandy?

Increase your Sat socre a little. 2250 and above is optimum and would almost garantee you a ticket in if all your other activities/essays/recs are solid. On the SAT IIs, send them. It shows you have gone above and beyond. And take Math II (it’s over more complicated math, but the curve actually makes it easier than Math II), high ranking colleges like Math II.

Last year SAT II were required. NJ is not a plus-- Vandy has become hugely hot around here, they’ve done a great job in PR, tons of NJ kids disappointed last year. Your SATs are great and they probably know your school HS is top notch. How many kids go in this past yr? That will be a good indication.
FYI-- alot of kids who’s first choice was Vandy moved onto Wake w/ mixed results. But going ED to Wake is a huge plus.

^ SATII’s weren’t required? I got in this past year (rising freshman), and I never took any, much less sent them in.

SAT subject tests are not required, and Vanderbilt doesnt look at the SAT writing section

Im guessing you go to lawrenceville prep?? Any way i think everyone is being a little to pessimistic because the EC’s are great, and the grades are good from the school you go to. Sat’s might be a little worse because i think vandy only looks at math and reading sections. You have a good shot though.

SAT II’s weren’t required? Were they just recommended? I made S take them - I thought it was for Vandy. oops
