Can't I just say I was homeschooled?

carton: why are you surprised? You're the exact kind of person that all of us "adults" here don't want as a prospective employee, co-worker, client, boss, service provider or neighbor. Really. Many of us are involved with hiring/firing. In the future, if you're hiring to fill a spot, what kind of "integrity" do want in those submitting their resumes to have? They'll come into your office smiling and nicely dressed. You'd better hope you can spot them and not get taken.

Gotta get your car worked on? Moved and need to find a new pediatrician for the kids? Hmmm...

"And some of us have already gotten into (and graduated) from selective colleges and know a little more about the real world and how it works."

And you still come to CollegeConfidential?

Okay, EVERYBODY RELAX. Jeez.

OP, pretending to be homeschooled might not even help you. It's harder, from what I know, for homeschoolers to be accepted, so your chances overall might be around the same.... except with the chance of being rescinded/expelled for lying on your app.

carton: FYI: there's a big selection of parents and alumni volunteers who come to CC to assist HS students. Some college undergrads also lurk around here to lend a hand. I'm an alum interviewer and recruiter for an HYP college. Many of us give back to our alma maters by serving them in their outreach to HS students. It might explain some of the ire expressed in these posts because we go face to face with dozens of hopeful kids each year.

Does this suffice?

It does suffice, actually.

Thank you.
