Can't Sleep in My Room

So, I am, in general, a fairly clean person. However, a couple days ago I spotted a German Roach (the small, fast kind) in my room just casually walking around. As I got up to squash it, it ran into a corner and disappeared. And ever since then I've been petrified of even being in my room, let alone sleeping in there. It's gotten to the point where I really desperately need to get some solid sleep but I just can't stand the thought of being in there longer than 10 mins.

PS: Yes, in case you're wondering, I have a mild phobia of these things. Essentially, I keep imagining it's going to come right at my face. I realize that that sounds irrational, but it is what it is.

My question is: Have you all dealt with anything similar? What did you do about it? Any and all advice would be appreciated!

Spray the baseboards of your room with bug spray/roach spray/spider spray. This gets 'em 100% of the time. If you want to mentally reassure yourself, then lay out some bug traps too!

bugs are every place. I would not spray toxic chemicals around the room. that is a bigger health issue then bugs.
I suggest seeking advice of the mental health services on campus. I think the fear of bugs and not sleeping is possibly displacing an under lying issue. we all have fears and phobias but…when they grab hold of us , they need to be looked at by a professional.
(that is not to say the bugs are desirable)

Spray the baseboards, it’ll get them.
