Hi all,
My younger brother is facing the choice between Canterbury and the Gunnery. The differences in contribution for two schools is currently $5.000 - Canterbury $35.000 (could be a bit less) v. The Gunnery $30.000. They seem quite similar in may ways(location, types of students…) although I think Canterbury is marginally “better”. Here are some stats about my brother:
- International student (Asian) - going to a top secondary school in my country (many alumni eventually go to Ivy League schools)
- Grades: SSAT 2200, TOEFL 103, GPA: 8.5/10
- Favorite subjects: history and physics. He excels in communication subjects but not too bad with science classes either.
- Extracurricular activities: Playing junior baseball (two years), some volunteer works during his spare time but he prefers to read historical books more.
- Character: Not really extrovert but also not an introvert either. I expect him to be able to adjust himself well into a new surroundings and form good friendships. That said my parents and I still want to choose a "calm" school that can .
Although I am actually a recent Brandeis grad, I don’t have any experience with prep school level and feel very torn in this situation. We hope to get some comments/ideas as well as your opinion on where my brother would fit best.
Thank everyone :D.
