I got into A&M and got capped by Ut at austin. Just wondering what you all thought of UTSA versus A&M

A lot of my friends got CAPed. :( It really depends on how bad you want to go to UT and your preferences about transfering and stuff.

If you intend to transfer after your freshman year, which is the intent of the CAP program, go to UTSA. It's not that great, but a year in SA is better than 4 in College Station. It's pretty much an automatic transfer, so your degree will be from UT-Austin. I have lots of friends who did CAP, and now that we're all graduating, it really doesn't matter where they were freshman year; no one remembers.

Depends on your major. If you want to go liberal arts or natural sciences (maybe communications/nursing?) its fine.. If your set on engineering or business, it is more difficult, and you will not be guaranteed entrance into one of these.

But you could always transfer in as liberal arts your sophomore year, and then do an internal transfer for spring semester of your sophomore year to business or engineering.

One of my friends did his freshman year at UT-Arlington, and he's now in the business school at UT. It's certainly possible.

What does CAPed mean?
