I'll see about calling tomorrow. I'm not even sure who to call....I'll have to check the website. For those of you accepted, was there a "contact person" on your letter...and a phone number?

Yes, it said to call undergraduate admissions (803 777-7700 or 800 868-5872) and ask to speak with an admissions counselor. The letter was signed R. Scott Verzyl. Good luck, I hope you get good news.

I did go and find DD's letter. The contact person for the McKissick is Heather Kelly...same phone number. I'll call tomorrow, although I do have to say...I don't handle rejection well :(

I spoke to the office of admission today. Capstone Scholar selection is a numbers driven process. The minimum SAT score is 1250...DD had 1230. There are no exceptions. However, the woman I spoke to was wonderful, explaining the opportunities DD would have regardless. Apparently much of what Capstone offers is open to all freshmen. Thank you all for being so supportive. And congratulations to you who have been accepted.

I was afraid of that cut off score of 1250 but it is strange that I got in with a 27 on the ACT which converts to a 1220 i believe, however, I did have a very high GPA coupled with legacy of both mom and dad along with my grandfather being a former professor and has a mass communications scholarship in his name. I'm sorry it didn't work out. Carolina is still a great, fun university for your daughter. The all female freshman dorms are decent and if your daughter decides to go here I would suggest Patterson. Something like 600 freshman women live there..... not too hard to make new friends.
