<p>I know the topic title sounds COMPLETELY out of place, but it's in regards to making a decision on whether paying more to live in dorms or live off-campus and get a car.
Getting a car is just dandy, but trying to figure out whether it's just going to end up costing more considering insurance and gas and all.
Is there anyone out there not under a parent's policy that drives around with insurance at Los Angeles or San Diego? Mind to throw out an approximate figure you paid for car insurance every month as a first time insurance holder and what kind of car you had?
I'm sure a lot of you DO drive.. and I know there are good student discounts too.. any other helpful tips would also be appreciated!</p>
