car or bike

so, iono what to bring to college, a car or a bike. the only thing that worries me is that my nbike is a lowrider. ha. i dont think i wana get it stolen

I think what form of transportation you bring depends on where you are going to school. You might consider bringing both - bike for getting around while on campus, and car for getting around off campus. Although if your campus has large steep hills, a bike may just be a pain.

UC Davis is a bike town.. something crazy like 2.5 bikes per capita. Most students leave thier bike on campus & then go back to thier apartments off campus via a car or the buses. For the students that live on campus (i.e. freshman) - they can't buy parking permits, so they can't have cars, so they must have bikes or walk. Bike theft is an issue always.. get a good U-lock (cable locks are easier to cut). Lock your bike to something permanant & also lock any removable parts of the bike to the frame or detach them & carry them with you. It seriously sucks to get out of class & find your bike without a seat or front tire.

Where will you be going to college? In my college towns such as mine (lincoln, NE) you don't need a bike or car. The downtown area has plenty of sidewalks and everything is within walking distance.
