Instate, white-male
2170 superscore SAT
4.7 weighted GPA, 3.9 non-weighted

And then comes the bad....
Abysmal ECs. Terrible
Practically NO community service. I'm a gamer people.
I (stupidly) only decided to go for 1 teacher recommendation. Still think it was a good one, however.
My essays, I believe, were at least decent.
Hooks? None

So there we go! Everyone I know says I'll get in, but they only think about scores. I have no idea what how much emphasis UNC puts on scores, cause if they only put mild interest into them, I'm freakin' screwed. UNC is one of 3 colleges I applied to as well, and I'd rather not go to app state.

Did you apply Early Action, or Regular Decision?
It seems like you have a decent chance… but honestly I wouldn’t really know. I’m not an admissions council person. I’ve applied for Carolina this year too, I hope we both get in:)

It seems like you have a shot, but Carolina puts tons of emphasis on their admissions process not relying heavily on test scores. They are always tweeting or writing an entire blog post about how tests scores are just a number. But, since you’re instate, your chances are definitely boosted. And you have a great GPA as well! I would say you’re chances aren’t ruined by no EC’s, but I’m just someone who researches Carolina admissions all the time because she’s so nervous.
Keep your head up!
