Career Advisers at UT ?

Hey guys,

So I'm taking classes at ACC in order to transfer to UT for Mechanical Engineering and I have a few questions.

If I apply to Mechanical Engineering and don't get into that specific Engineering, will they notify me if any other engineering subject would accept me ?

Do you know if there are career advisers at UT ? Or is it just the normal advisers you talk to about careers ? Thing is I want to do something related to environmental engineering, and I'm afraid I won't get high enough grades to transfer to Cockrell, so I'm trying to figure out if Jackson school of Geosciences will still make some sense, but I don't know if their advisers are the people to go to.

Lastly - do I just go to the different colleges and ask to speak with advisers ? I want to know where I stand, unfortunately my Calc 1 professor is being extremely hard on us and so I don't see myself getting a good enough grade, from what I understand, unless I ace it - engineering will be nearly impossible to get into.

Thank you!

Bump ? Thanks

yes, all colleges provide career advising.

UGS provides academic advising about all colleges if you decide to transfer to UGS. I read information here that it was impossible to transfer from certain colleges to other colleges directly and students had to switch to UGS first to do internal transfer.

Thanks. I will also go to an adviser hopefully tomorrow to find out more information.
