Career grad/school placements.

Hi,

Can anyone guide me to a website where I can find the performance of Princeton undergraduates for job placements and/or grad school placements? (or if you can name examples by head)

How do Princeton undergrads do compared to other ivies/top schools? Long term statistics would also be helpful...

Thanks a lot.

Faraday.

the office of career services keeps track of the general sectors where students get jobs. The pre-med advising office keeps track of med school acceptances. I’m not sure exactly where to get other stats, but princeton graduates do quite well overall. Princeton is–or atleast was a year ago-- a big feeder into wall street and management consulting, I would say better than harvard and yale, although that’s mostly anecdotal. Princeton grads also do extremely well in terms of phd admissions, as the thesis requirement and the jp requirements are big pluses. The people that I know who went the law/med school route all had a lot of success, particularly in law school admissions (top 5 schools), although I guess that there are some people saying that grade deflation affects those paths.

All of my friends who actually knew what they wanted to do after graduation ended up in top tier jobs/schools.

At yale law school, 85 yale UG enrolled. 70 Harvard UG enrolled,
33 from Stanford UG 32 from Columbia UG and… only 24 from Princeton UG

At Harvard Law School 300 from Harvard UG, and…only 50 from Princeton UG

jomjom, enrollment is different from admission.

Also, Harvard law is known for being incestuous, and obviously more harvard undergrads will apply to harvard law. Self-explanatory.

percentage matter too- it’s my feeling that fewer people from princeton apply, as more decide to do consulting/ibanking directly out of college. That may change after this year. But I know a pretty large number of princetonians at HLS. I don’t think you should make your HYPS decision based on ease of admissions to med/law school.

Take a look at jomjoms previous posts before you take anything he/she says to heart. I would look at the Career Services website, but it may take some digging.

See this site: <a href=“Search Opportunities | Human Resources”>Search Opportunities | Human Resources;
Results will be different this year given the economy.
