I am applying to colleges as a biology major. I think I honestly want to end up being a science teacher at a high school. Is this too like unambitious to put as the career interest? Like would colleges look down on me if I put teacher? Would colleges be more impressed if I put something like “scientific researcher”?
Because as a teacher, I likely wouldn’t be super rich and able to donate lots of $$$ in the future
Being a teacher is a wonderful, honorable, and noble profession. I can’t see why any college (which are educational institutions themselves) would see that as a negative. Keep in mind that admissions officers also understand that many people change their mind on majors, future professions etc. while they are in college.
Also don’t put anything down on an application just to “impress” admission officers. It will ring false. Proudly be who you are.
good thinking about donation money…i doubt they will look at this - they have lots of donors from already wealthy established families which are main contributors anyway not newly rich financiers or start up founders
Alright, thank you both!!!
I would state scientific research/education.
