Career options for B.S in Economics w/Math Minor

As I finish my sophomore year at the University of Iowa's businesses school I wanted to know which direction I should be looking in terms of internships/career experience. I understand the importance of getting valuable job experience as much as you can while in school but I was just wondering what were the best career fields for a quantitative major combo like mine. I was thinking banking, budget analyst, or even something in government. I've always been extremely interested in finance, economics, budgeting, etc. but most people can't get a straight "economist" job without a masters or Phd. (which I'm not interested in getting). Not to mention I'll be competing with finance majors applying for the same financial jobs I'll be applying to. Really any tips or advice would help especially from those who know people or who are directly working or involved in the finance industry. I also want to add that after school graduation I'll for sure be moving with family in New Jersey to try and land a job in NYC. I'm willing to take that risk with or without a confirmed job at graduation so I want to set myself up with the best chance of landing a job in the city within my 6 month loan grace period. Thanks for any input!! :)
