<p>Do colleges prefer that you take the full career pathway for an elective (3/4 years of engineering, medical, business, etc..) or that you use that slot for AP courses(most likely science or social studies)?</p>
<p>Also, if for example, you did medical but changed your mind and wanted to go into business, does it look bad to schools you apply to for business that you took the medical pathway as an elective, instead of business?</p>
<p>I don’t really think electives matter - most of the kids I know who want to go into a STEM field don’t opt for Computer Programming but rather do art/calligraphy/etc. I’d go for the AP’s.</p>
