Do you guys ( and gals) think that not taking any electives will look bad to adcoms?

My junior, and senior year schedule will only be core classes. Mainly b/c i like the challenge, and because my schools electives are dumb ( i.e ceramics). Do you think colleges (HYP) would rather see someone drop an AP class and take something like Band?

I'm definitely not going to drop an AP course, but would do you guys think about it?

Just take whatever you're truly interested in. I could have taken four more APs instead of band AND had a much higher GPA, but I could never drop Band.

If you're more interested in AP Psych (for example) than ceramics, then it would just be stupid to take Ceramics. Conversely, if you love art but think that your schedule looks "better" if you take 7 APs, not taking art would be wrong.

i'm not considering taking an elective instead of an AP course. I just want to know if colleges like to see things like band on your transcript. I doubt not taking an elective will hurt, but i want to know what your thoughts are.

I think they want you to take what interests you more, i.e., don't take AP Microecon if you despise economics. Personally, I'll probably be taking only core classes because electives are so fluffy here.
