How do Williams graduates fare in job placement and salary? Does Williams publish this information? I’m aware that they their students do well with their applications to top graduate school but am concerned about career success after graduation. Do only certain majors (such as Art History) lead to good offers, are their graduates valued by recruiters, etc?

Here are some of the companies that recruit on-campus at Williams. If you are interested in consulting, government, or banking, you are pretty much set if you go to Williams. Tech is pretty good too since some Boston firms come to Williams. And these are just the companies that are willing to go so far away to recruit. You will have no problem being considered by other Fortune 500 as long as your GPA is good.
They do great. Williams is a very highly regarded college.
@MJG800 I think you have to remember that your career starts long before you graduate. The internships and summer jobs you hold and the contacts and connections you make are a huge influence. Williams has an excellent career center and an active and helpful pool of alumni/ae that will help you get a start in many professions. Williams is well known to graduate school admissions everywhere. Company recruiters and HRs managers may be more regional, but those in the east certainly know and value a Williams degree.
If you’re thinking about Art History you’re probably aware that Williams has one of the strongest programs in the country. There are three world-class museums on or near campus with plenty of opportunities to gain hands-on experience. Williams graduates are well represented in museum positions – both as curators and managers – and they do well in Art History PhD admissions.
Thank you for all the responses - very helpful. I have heard about the Art History program but I was actually asking for my son who is will considering Williams right now and is undecided in terms of major.
@MJG800, my will be attending his 10 year Williams reunion this summer. He and all of his friends have done well in their chosen careers. Most have graduate degrees from top programs. Salary levels vary depending on the individual field of work, but for sure their experience at Williams was a factor in getting them where they wanted to go.
