Carillon Communities

Does anyone have any insights/perspectives on this LLC?

My daughter was in this program last year. It was a good experience. They all lived together on a few floors in a dorm. Most students were declared as undecided (letters and sciences). Within Carillon, you could focus on one theme (cohort) and that involved a class that was either only first semester, or I think one area of focus was year long.

It was a great way to make the school feel smaller and the class my daughter took was very interesting. Her cohort also met for an hour once a week to learn about broader university resources.

She enjoyed it and made very good friends!

How much control does a student have over where they live within Carillon? Are any communities more popular than others? My son and a few of his friends were offered Carillon & they would like to be in the same community and perhaps even room together. Part of what has him so excited about going to Maryland is that many of friends are going also. The deadline is really short and he wants more info to make a decision.

From what I can tell, housing is in either Easton or Elkton Hall, depending on which topic they pick.
