I am applying early decision to Carleton. I have the GPA (4.224), the SATs (2270), the extracurriculars (lots of leadership stuff and awards), the essays (been told by various seasoned experts that they're some of the best they've ever read), and the recs (my teachers and guidance counselor love me). I don't mean to sound cocky, but I've worked really, really hard. Though I am from Southern Indiana, I am a white female, which really puts a damper on things.

However, there is another girl at my school applying early decision as well. Her GPA is considerably lower (3.700), her SATs are really low (somewhere in the 1900s), her extracurriculars involve no leadership or awards (she has told me herself), she's not a very good writer (I am an editor in my spare time, and she's asked me to look over her stuff), and in every class I've been in with her (a lot), her teachers are always annoyed with her. However, she is a small portion Hispanic. Does that change everything? I'm becoming paranoid that she'll get in over me because they don't need yet another white female.

Please tell me how worried I should be!
