<p>CMU Directing</p>
<p>I auditioned for the Directing program @ CMU and was wondering if anyone else out there had as well. Have you heard anything yet??</p>

<p>I just finished posting to you on the other thread about what other directing programs you applied to. I was hoping that you had applied to CMU. I like that program because the directing majors have to take the same acting classes as the acting majors and MT's do. I believe that a director who understands the acting process is a director that can communicate well with actors.</p>

<p>Yes, I DEFINITELY applied to Carnegie! My drama director is a graduate of CMU Directing, and he is such a talented artist. We're very lucky to have a drama director who was actually trained as a director at one of the country's top drama schools!</p>

<p>My S is a current second year CMU BFA actor. He just finished directing one of his original projects in "Playground", (something new they started at CMU last year). He just LOVES the school!</p>
<p>Is CMU everyone's top choice? I wonder if there are any solid stats for boys that audition for MT this year. Anyone know?</p>

<p>my names hunter and i also applied to cmu for musical theatre. it is definitely my dream school too, and i would love to go there. BUT, i havent heard anyhting from them yet either. what all did u have to do at ur audition, do u remember who u auditioned for? ive heard several different things from people that auditioned. anyway, talk to you soon man. my sn is hrh7786 in case thats easier. peace.</p>
<p>Does anyone know of anyone that really isn't that talented (I'm sorry to be harsh, but I'm really nervous now!) or does not have certain skills(maybe an amazing singer, but not so great actor) that felt that they had a really good audition? Or was asked to do muultiple things? Sorry for the bluntness, I'm just dying here!</p>

<p>Jesse- Don't worry, there are many many people here pulling for you! I too called and was told our D's letter would go out on Monday the 28th, but then said next Friday she would hear (online?-not clear), so I guess we all get a lesson in patience. I am not sure I would want to answer phones in an admissions office right now.</p>

<p>So of all you guys that auditioned for CMU, did they have you sing for both people? Act for both? </p>
<p>At my audition I only sang for the woman, and only acted for the man... That's why I'm thinking I probably didn't get in, just because it was more in and out for me.</p>

<p>We are on Spring Break right now, but as far as I know no one from my school, (except for one who got into the production and design program) has heard anything. Still waiting to see if any of our actors/MT's got in or waitlisted.</p>
