what are my chances at Carnegie Mellon- School of Computer Science and CIT- ECE?

bump

@Satmurthy - What do you mean by a GPA of 4.1? That’s too high to be unweighted unless your school gives out more than 4.0 for A+ grades. If it’s weighted, what’s your UW GPA?

Also, what do you mean by international student studying in New Jersey? Are you living in the USA? Are you a permanent resident or not?

It in some ways depends on which country you ate from

4.1 is my weighted gpa. my UW gpa should be around 3.95. I am living in the usa on a visa and not a permanent resident.

Bye the way, I had my interview with carnegie and it wrent pretty well

0br0123- what depends on the country i come from? I come from India

Reach. I do not see many computer science ecs. the school itself has a 6 percent acceptance rate

@Satmurthy- I would think you would be at a disadvantage for CMU SCS because they certainly get a large number of very qualified Indian-American applicants (either citizens or permanent residents) and they are liable to get accepted before you. While you appear to be very qualified, you don’t seem to be the type of candidate whose application will immediately be put at the top of the pile.

I may be wrong, and I am sure you will get into some great schools with your qualifications.

BldrDad- what about CIT-ECE

@Satmurthy - I would imagine CIT is less of a reach, as it’s not as selective as SCS.

I notice on another thread that you’ve applied to a number of great schools. You seem like a strong candidate, and I hope you get into at least one of them. Good luck!

@BldrDad thank you
