Good luck to everybody who applied! My D is a sophomore at CMU–be prepared to work your tails off. But it’s worth it. She just scored a VERY lucrative internship this summer as a soph. CMU is a job creation machine!

@scout07 Congratulations! I have yet to meet someone who went to Michigan who didn’t love it. My son also got into there (engineering school). He’s been wearing the maize and blue for a while - it’s been a good buffer against some WL and denied this month. Still waiting to hear from CMU and 3 others; he would definitely have to visit (again) if he is fortunate enough to be deciding between CMU and Michigan. Good luck everyone!
Just called the admissions office. They said decisions would be released “all day tomorrow”. Good luck to you, everyone. Rejection from UMich and Berkeley was harsh today. Hoping on UCLA waitlist/CMU or else I’ll go to Georgia Tech. Really need CMU now hahaha
Rejected by NYU today, laughed really hard. O! admissions process why you so random?
@brooklynilene I’m considering UMich CoE as an option as well with CMU SCS. I’ll be in Michigan this weekend , so let’s see how things turn out!
anyone wait listed also receive letter? is that a skinny envelop?
Good question @befree8
Would be a bummer to get that FAT envelope only to be sent to wait list purgatory…
Fat Letter in the mail today in Pittsburgh!! Tepper and Dietrich - Yay!!!
Does anyone know of people that actually make it into CMU from the waitlist?
@awoodenbowl
Same here. If not CMU, then Georgia Tech. I got into WUSTL too but Georgia Tech is better known for engineering so I’ll probably end up there. If I don’t get into CMU that is.
@Enthouse Awesome man! We should get to know each other if we both get CMU or end up at GT :))
@gavenb waitlist is a nice way to say no. from stat, the chance are extremely small. 1%?
@awoodenbowl
Sure I hope we both get into CMU!
Waitlisted from first choice (SCS). Accepted to second choice (Dietrich). Got the FAT and had the two extra FA documents.
@annwank – . . . “be prepared to work your tails off.” It’s what my son loved about his visit. He didn’t see the same desire with the Harvard/Princeton/Penn kids.
If I don’t have my mail now does that mean I’m rejected?
We don’t have it either - and admissions is saying only international went out priority and we shouldn’t assume that means anything negative, This is hell
I’m in D.C, which is much closer than many of the other places where people received letters already. Since I haven’t gotten anything in the mail, I’m basically going with the assumption that I didn’t get in. I could be wrong, but I’ll be prepared mentally.
Anyone in New York got theirs already?
