@scout07 Im not sure if there’s a deadline, but you can try! I’m just gearing towards the MPN hint thing because they only sent those out to admitted students in the past
For the people who do have those two fin aid docs there - have you submitted every other required fin aid doc?
yes i have received for all other docs and not received for those 3 Entrance Counseling - Undergraduate Not Received
Master Promissory Note - Direct Loan Not Received
Perkins Loan Promissory Note
Hey everyone! I applied to the SCS and I just checked my “Where Am I In the Process” and it says they have not received my parents or my W2 or tax returns. I had uploaded my parent’s and my W2 but not any tax returns because my father said he didn’t have any and that I don’t either? Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
@iauena - Good luck to you!
I have those two things in my FinAid Section too…the General Promissory Note and the Entrance Counseling. All of my other documents are shown as received.
How did you know if those two documents were only sent to admitted students in the past?
For those who have the two docs listed, what are your stats?
To tell you the truth, I don’t think stats matter that much.
If you look at the Northwestern thread, you will see that quite a few applicants with high stats were rejected, while many with low stats were accepted.
It’s just so very random.
@StevenToCollege just trying to see if there’s any obvious correlation between the docs and acceptance based on stats. Seems unlikely such a highly ranked school would make a mistake in revealing admissions like that.
Check this out.
One reason maybe this is not an acceptance notification, but status posted (presumably) by the Office of Financial Aid or whatever it’s called at CMU. The two are probably separate entities.
@StevenToCollege yes, I read about that a while back. Perhaps that would cause them to be extra careful? Who knows, we’ll find out in a couple days I suppose!
Does CMU start mailing out physical decisions tomorrow?
They said snail mailings start the 25th.
Did anyone else see a “Financial Aid Notification” button on their portal?
@anarebu - yes we do…my guess is everybody has that.
Say does anyone know when the Explore/Visit CMU Day (every college calls theirs something different) is?
@anarebu yeah that’s been there since the beginning. It is how you complete your attestations.
For anyone worrying about Financial Aid stuff, I called and they said you can even submit/fix whatever FA info you need after the admission decision.
So I’m not gonna worry about sending anything else that I missed in unless I get in.
