It is on the acceptance letter about 3/4 of the way down
Did anyone come across the acceptance rate this year? I think 35K applicants, but do you know the # accepted?
Where do we go to find the admitted students’ weekend and all of that type of information? I don’t see it on my portal.
hey amigos when do the financial aid reports come out?
@reformedman haha thanks for that. I saw that page, but all of my other portals where I’ve been accepted had a lot more information about events and things like that so I was just curious why cmu doesn’t have that. thanks though
Accepted to Dietrich and The Science and Humanities Scholars Program. 33 ACT, 4.68 w 3.96 uw GPA.
@reformedman thank you! it worked
This morning I found out I was priority waitlisted from SCS. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hi!!! I mentioned I wanted to apply to BXA (BSA) and I never got a separate column on the “Where Am I?” page… I was accepted into the College of Fine Arts but waitlisted for MCS… BXA was not mentioned in my acceptance letter… How did yours look?
I was accepted to Yale (LL), MIT, JHU, and Penn, but I was flat-out rejected from CMU both for SCS and MCS.
Definitely a shot at my self-esteem. Oh well…
Is it possible that I may have not shown enough interest?
@combustion984 Sounds like you have some wonderful options! Congrats. With these highly competitive programs, no one is guaranteed a space… probably not worth it to second guess your application.
@psycholing Thank you! That is definitely true. It is a bit upsetting, however, that I was flat-out rejected and not even waitlisted. It seems that CMU doesn’t want me whatsoever.
@combustion984 Getting into those other schools is a tremendous achievement. Don’t dwell on this small negative. Positive psychology says that people who look at their portion as half full rather than half empty have more satisfying lives, are healthier, live longer, etc. Your cup is overflowing… enjoy.
@combustion984 How did you submit your applications? I didn’t think Penn came out yet, and I thought they had early decision so you could only apply to Penn as a private school early. Got into CMU SCS but really like Penn culture. I felt limited by the ED, so didn’t apply early there. Don’t you have to go to Penn now?
@combustion984 Wow you got into MIT? Congrats! I was flat out denied but somehow managed a waitlist for CMU SCS. All the best!!
@combustion984 how did you hear back from penn already?
@Calidadtoo Apologies. Perhaps I jumped the gun when I said that I was accepted at Penn. I received a financial aid letter from Penn that, in years past, has almost always been an indication of an acceptance.
Has anybody gotten any emails from CMU following their acceptance? Usually after a college bombards you with info via email after you get in but CMU has been quiet.
